Karen Sumlin, CPDT, founded Accomplished Canines for the purpose of assisting dog owners in developing a strong relationship with their pets through effective training and a better understanding of dog psychology. She served as Area Coordinator for Southeastern Guide Dogs and subsequently was on staff with The Guide Dog Foundation as Puppy Program Consultant for the Southern Region, overseeing the raising and basic training of pups in the Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee tri-state area. Karen also worked in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Corrections, overseeing the dogs being raised in their Cell Dogs program. She has also done volunteer training at local Animal Shelters in an effort to increase the adoptability of their dogs. With her own dogs, she has successfully competed in both agility trials and disc dog tournaments, as well as been involved in Pet Therapy and sports such as herding, obedience, and tracking. |
